Surgery Department

The Bradley County Medical Center Surgery Department is staffed with highly skilled Registered Nurses, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Surgical Technologists, and Sterile Central Technicians. Our nurses are all certified in advanced cardiac life support. We are available to perform surgery 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Along with our skilled surgical team, we are privileged to have many talented physicians at our hospital.

Our surgery department has recently been remodeled. Included in our new addition are two new nurses' stations, a brand new post anesthesia care unit, offices for management and anesthesia, and storage rooms. The surgical staff and physicians are very proud of our newly remodeled department. Our post anesthesia care unit has five beds available. It is staffed with registered nurses who will follow you through your surgery. For consistency, this registered nurse will continue to follow you throughout your immediate post-op recovery.

We have performed over almost 400 scopes to view the inside of the stomach and the colon in the past year. These scopes can help detect disorder and cancer of the digestive system. Tests like these can often be life-saving.

If your physician schedules you for a procedure at our facility, you will be contacted by our nursing staff. At this time, they will set up a pre-op visit with you. During a pre-op visit, you will speak with someone from the business office to collect your payment information. One of our registered nurses will collect information about your medical history. Lab work and other pre-op testing may ordered at this time. We will also discuss with you, what you should expect on the day of surgery.
When choosing a facility for your next surgical procedure, keep BCMC surgery in mind. We perform many of the same procedures as the larger hospitals, only closer to home.

If you have any questions regarding a procedure that may be performed in our surgery department, feel free to contact us at 870-226-4157.

BCMC Issues Urgent Call for Blood Donations at Upcoming LifeShare Blood Drive Feb. 23

Bradley County Medical Center is issuing an urgent appeal to the community for blood donations in its upcoming LifeShare Blood Drive scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The blood drive will take place in the BCMC Rural Health Clinic parking lot, located across the street from the ER entrance at the hospital.

Blood donations are down across the country as it’s hit a 20-year low so if you are able to donate, please come by and give blood on Feb. 23. Potential donors can reserve a time slot online through the donor portal on www.lifeshare.org. You do not have to make an appointment as walk-ins are encouraged. Every donor will receive a token of appreciation in the form of a long sleeve influencer shirt, while supplies last, for their selfless contribution. Together, the Warren community can ensure that local hospitals have the necessary resources to provide quality healthcare when it matters most.
