JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Maintenance Assistant
Department: Maintenance
Supervisor: Director of Maintenance

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting Director in the operation,
maintenance and repair of all equipment to supply the hospital with all
electrical power, water, heat, and air conditioning.

Position Accountabilities:

1) Assists Director in routine operation and maintenance of boilers and
all other hospital equipment and systems.

2) Assumes responsibility for operation and maintenance of boilers and all
other equipment and systems in the absence of the Director.

3) Knowledgeable in the following areas;
a) Building and grounds maintenance techniques
b) Equipment and operation of power plants
c) Plumbing and HVACR systems
d) Sanitation
e) Carpentry
f) Electrical Systems
g) Fire and safety regulations

4) Maintains a close and cooperative relationship with hospital
administration and all department heads to perform preventative
maintenance schedules.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent of high school diploma.

Special Job Requirements: Will take call or be on call; frequent heavy lifting and exposure to unsanitary conditions is required.

BCMC Alters Visitation Policy to Reflect No Patient Left Alone Act


Bradley County Medical Center has made updates to its visitation policy to reflect the No Patient Left Alone that was recently signed into law in Arkansas.

This act states that a patient be allowed one support person who is permitted to be physically present on a daily basis at reasonable times throughout his or her hospitalization. Therefore, each patient may have one support person with them during normal visiting hours. In accordance with this new law, BCMC will allow one support person per patient during normal visiting hours.

Bradley County Medical Center reserves the right to limit or place visitor restrictions in certain situations including, but not limited to, when the presence of visitors would be medically or therapeutically harmful; interfere with the care or rights of any patient; visitors are engaging in violent, disruptive, or threatening behavior; or visitors are noncompliant with BCMC policy.
